I still can't get over the fact that 2 years ago I was paying 22 bucks a battle pack for that stuff. Crazy insane prices for the surplus.

I ain't buying. F price gouging. New production is one thing, but they are @$$ raping us on the surplus.

Indeed. At the current prices I'd be buying only if I were running (very) low. Still, with the newly "strong" dollar, we could give it a few weeks and see whether prices become more reasonable.

So you guys like Ball Ammo?

Seems to me like you're gonna be throwing at least two or three rounds down range to accomplish what one well placed Ballistic with a little heavier bullet would do.

Just thinkin'

.308 is .308. It'll do the job. And with 1400 rounds I think I can spare a few for misplaced shots. How many zombies do you think you're going to kill before you go down? :confused_ma:

It's punks like you that scare the hell out of me. How old are you anyway?
Does your mama know that you have a weapon?

I'd suggest you do little homework before you get on here spouting off about how tough you are. You know absolutely NOTHING about ballistics.

Have you ever seen a 7.62 FMJ wound?

Time for you to grow up, cowboy.

I too remember buying 1000 round cases for $140 or so....I went through most of a case of Radway Green, little knowing it was worth almost as much as the rifle...:D

I wouldn't mind buying some Wolf .308 to try....if it would come down in price some.

Just looking at the Lithuanian that I've got it's pretty nice, actually nicer than the SA stuff I've shot in the past and I've have nothing but great success with the SA stuff.

If you're worried buy 100 rounds and test it, that's half the fun....

Where did you hear about Israeli ammo being bad? I have several hundred rounds of IMI surplus and match and I've always thought it to be some of the best surplus around.

Israeli 308 is made with Winchester components as is their 5.56...never heard of any problems with either.

Any more specific information? Headstamped TZ80 perhaps? Or from the 80's?

The Israeli 308 surplus I have is a mixed bag with various headstamps...I have shot some out of my FALs, M1As, HKs with no problems to date, although the brass is nice and shiny and looks like it may have been tumbled to clean it...:thumpdown

Has anyone had any experience with the SA45 45ACP South African 220gr FMJ (at Wideners for $15.95/50 or $279/1000)? It is tinned up nicely and I was thinking of getting some to compliment my disaster-day stash of tinned up Wolf 9mm. Any input would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!

IIRC it was TZ-89 or thereabouts. Lots of split cases. Sold as Loose machine gun ammo. Stuff I saw was grungy but could be tumbled to look better.
